Part of the firm's strategy to grant more mobile devices with PlayStation certification.
Sony's PlayStation Suite SDK will be available in open beta form for small and large content developers alike in April, enabling them to create content for open OSs on PlayStation certified devices.
The open beta version has been improved based on requests from original closed tests and will rollout beyond Japan, the US and the UK this time.
Sony plans to accelerate the expansion of PlayStation certified devices, which supports our report that the firm may grant HTC approval to make PlayStation smartphones and tablets.
The full version of the SDK will be available by the end of the year, allowing developers to make sales in the PlayStation Store on a commercial basis, while the annual subscription will cost $99.
Additionally, speculation has circulated about PlayStation Vita becoming an open platform for mobile devices and this could be the start of the transition.
