Amazon's Kindle Fire shipped 4m devices in Q4 to become the world's number two tablet, trailing behind the iPad.However, it isn't just the tablet PC market the Fire has had an impact on, according to Digitimes.
e-book shipments reached nine million in Q4 and although a dip is usually expected after Christmas, the devices are thought to reach shipments of just two million in Q1.
Digitimes puts this down to the successful sales of the Amazon tablet, which has been its bestseller for 16 weeks, in turn affecting the sale of its Kindle e-readers.
Additionally Digitimes says annual shipments of e-readers will top 60 million by 2015, compared to the 22.8 million shipped in 2011.
