No more downloads for owners of Windows Mobile 6.x devices.
Microsoft announced the closedown of its app store in a series of emails that are being sent to customers of its Windows Mobile 6.x smartphones.
The closedown will take place on May 9th, at which time users will be unable to download anymore apps or games from the Marketplace.
However, existing apps and services that are already installed will continue to work, unless the device is wiped.
It's fair to say that Microsoft has neglected its 6.x OS, what with the last update being rolled out over two years ago in January 2010.
Since that time, the firm has concentrated on pushing its Windows Phone OS, which is currently on version 7.5 (Mango).
