Maybe Sony makes the modchips. That might be why this is modchip compatible.
Guys, "hard down" means that this version of the PSP can be downgraded through a mod chip. You can't downgrade this through software (yet)... it probably has different voltages just like the TA-082s.
I'm glad to see 0okm working on this profusely!

This is a very helpful thread. Its great to see what the box code (L) is for this mobo.
Hopefully we will see the day when these PSP's can be downgraded in safe reliable way.
If indeed this means that these PSP's can be modchipped then I don't know what Sony is thinking. Also, modchips are selling for $70 at consolesource.
i have 3 diff mobosin each of ma psp's... problem is that the only working psp that has a gud mobo and is working is the ta-082. i hope that this new mobo can be downgraded my software... lets all ask ookm wut he emans by harddown to 1.5
No, from the looks of the pictures, the chip layout is varied from our 1.5 friendly boards, not only that the voltages are probably changed, thus making current modchips obsolete.
Hard down means either a modchip capable board or something to do with easily removable/flashable memory.
wonder who 0okm is - he has some tasty info regularly.
