    use this version its better anyway and its less strict on which bios you have ( the version you have, you have to have the actual ripped bios )

    Bet you anything that you aren't actually naming the file "gba_bios.bin" but something like "gba_bios.bin.bin" and Windows is hiding the extension. Turn off extension hiding or rename it in a shell.

    I haven't quit gpSP, just put it on hiatus for a while.

    Games like Super Mario Advance 3, Riviera and Sword of Mana actually DO work in gpSP, believe it or not. If they don't work for you then you're using the faulty BIOS. Don't argue with me, it's true; the sooner you accept this the sooner you can move on.

    thanks exophase, that fixed that problem.
    but now after i open up gpSP the screen goes black for a few seconds then the PSP powers off. any ideas? and thank you very much again

    Is a bios and gba rom (.gba) the same.

    No. You need the bios file to run the GBA roms. The GBA roms are the dumped games.
