Temple Run, Imangi Studios' running game that has been downloaded more than 45 million times on iOS, is now available for Android.
The Washington-based studio confirms in a press release thatTemple Run is available now as a free download from Google Play, the new name for Google's download store following a thorough rebranding of its online services including Android Market.
First released for iOS last August as a paid download, Imangi made the game free to play, supported by microtransactions, and revenues rose fivefold as a result. Like many App Store successes it has been a target of cloners; the strikingly similar Temple Jump, developed by Anton Sinelnkov, creator of the likes of Plant Vs Zombie and Angry Ninja Birds, was pulled by Apple last month.
