Creature comforts take priority ahead of use on the move.
The demand for streaming is on the rise, according to mobile video solutions provider QuickPlay Media, which says 27 per cent of Americans currently watch mobile TV.
Of that group, 72 per cent started using the platform within the past year, while 81 per cent of users say they watch more TV on their mobile devices than they did one year ago.
Interestingly, almost half of Americans choose to use streaming services indoors, which is unusual given that the platform is designed for use on the move. Meanwhile, 13 per cent use the platform 'between activities, ten per cent at work and eight per cent use it when in transit and in a queue.
38 per cent choose to watch TV shows, while 28 per cent view sports and almost one-fifth opt for news.
Smartphones lead for video service use with 63 per cent, while 33 per cent use tablets as their primary device.
