Help trying to downgrade 2.71 to 1.5 - 80020001 error

I'd be grateful for any advice.
I'm aiming to install 'dark alex 2.71 SE-B'.
I started today with a PSP1003 firmware 2.6 (shipped with frimware 2.01, purchased Nov 05).

All files have been downloaded from qj.net
-Firstly I updated my psp to 2.71 - no prpblems.
-I downloaded and installed Dark Alex's homebrew enabler (henc), it seemed to work fine - screen went from blue to green. The 'cubes test' program runs fine.
-I installed Dark Alex's generic downgrader and downloaded the 1.5 eboot file, renamed it to UPDATE.PBP and copied that across to the /psp/game/update as directed.
-I see 'psp formware update x.yz' and i run it
-PSP reboots but I get message 'the game cannot be started 80020001'

I have since tried formatting the memory stick and resetting to factory defaults several times. I have also tried using the 'Blackskull' repack of henc and generic downgrader but get the same result.

do you have a TA-082 motherboard check here

since you have a 2.71 you could also use the downgrader from xtrusion
you'll need a 1.5 flashdump made with the downhelper(or just google it)

and a fresh (inside the psp) formatted 32mb memstick
100% battery charge
the power supply plugged in (the whole time)
then just start the tiff exploit via photo menu
a red screen appears dont touch till its finished
the programm crashes on purpose when done
just turn it of and back on, a error appears dont panic its ok press circle then the psp reboots voila 1.5 setup menu
but watch out if you have a ta-82 motherboard (search google to identify)
never go below firmware 2.5 or the psp is a brick

it worked for me i have a white 1004 psp
i went from 2.6 to 2.71 and then down to 1.5

Just get the 2.71 easy downgrader full edition

yeah ok easy downgrader is better but be sure its the full version

thanks for all the advice and help
after much effort I finally have 1.5. I tried the Easy Downgrade app a few times but it locked up. On a whim I put my 32meg stick in and tried again with the blackskull repack *success* - I don't know if the change of memory stick is a coincidence or not.

yep you need a fresh with the psp formatted memstick to run this
i tried it with a 1GB nothing worked
then with the fresh 32MB memstick every thing was fine
glad to see a new member of the homebrew scene:thumbup:
