Portal to source child-appropriate clips and trailers.
The news comes from TechCrunch, citing a tweet from a Disney Interactive Labs engineer, the arm of the Walt Disney firm that focuses on mobile and online technologies.
The video search engine – video.disney.com – is currently in beta, but will source age-appropriate movies, shows, collections and YouTube clips for its child audience.
The cross-platform service can be used on all devices – PCs, tablets, smartphones – engaging with a market that is increasingly tech-savvy, while streaming content is in huge demand.
Disney Interactive recently partnered with Talking Tom Cat app developer Outfit7 to begin work on a Talking Friends web series, which will run on online, on YouTube and in mobile apps.
