The news comes from TechCrunch, citing a tweet from a Disney Interactive Labs engineer, the arm of the Walt Disney firm that focuses on mobile and online technologies.
The video search engine video.disney.com is currently in beta, but will source age-appropriate movies, shows, collections and YouTube clips for its child audience.
The cross-platform service can be used on all devices PCs, tablets, smartphones engaging with a market that is increasingly tech-savvy, while streaming content is in huge demand.
Disney Interactive recently partnered with Talking Tom Cat app developer Outfit7 to begin work on a Talking Friends web series, which will run on online, on YouTube and in mobile apps.
