This morning the ISFE released the new GameTrack data, which reveals that Angry Birds was the UK’s most popular game in Q1 2012, with ten per cent of the total market.
The reports, which ISFE commissioned Ipsos to produce, reveal some interesting statistics about the UK’s gaming habits, including the fact that 37 per cent of the UK population played games within the last 12 months, totalling 21 million people. The reports claim that half of all games played in the UK during Q1 2012 were apps.
It was also revealed that in the UK, 25 per cent of the population plays games on PC or Mac. 68 per cent of UK kids play packaged goods games. 65 per cent play online games. 43 per cent play apps. 31 per cent play all three.
The reports claim to be the most detailed and comprehensive view of the market, including every platform and kind of game out there. It shows that although the app market is growing, there is still a huge percentage of the population that play packaged and online PC games.
