Peripherals specialist Mad Catz is weeks away from launching what it claims is the worlds' first "truly wireless" Xbox headset, as part of a key partnership deal with Microsoft.
The Tritton Warhead 7.1 surround sound headset is an official Xbox 360 product and targeted for release in August, likely at a £199.99 retail price.
Mad Catz say the "meaty" device connects directly with the Xbox 360 and thus requires no connection with the controller itself.
Communications boss Alex Verrey says the headset is "one of the most anticipated products we've ever launched". A press event, set for Friday the 13th of July, has been scheduled to demonstrate the device.
