But games business shows operating loss of £13m

Sega Sammy has returned to profit and reported £20m earnings for the three months ending June 30th.
The latest financial report shows a significant improvement on the £18m loss made during the same quarter last year.

The company’s games business however showed an operating loss of almost £13m, although this was down from a substantial loss of £31m the year before.
Sega claimed demand had weakened for packaged games due to the severe economic environment in the USA and Europe, but performance for digital software for mobile, and PC had remained favourable.
Whilst Sega has still reporting an operating loss for the last quarter, the figures show a significant improvement for the publisher as it restructures its European operations in a bid to generate more profit for the businesss.
