Default Play your P$P with a SNES controller

As the video shows, someone hooked up a Super Nintendo controller to the PSP to play. I can't imagine the need for this as the PSP pretty much has the same scheme as the SNES controller but, who am I to judge?

I'd say it's an improvement seeing as the PSP control pad is horrid and the SNES control pad was awesome.

A SNES pad certainly would be nicer for fighters.
Having to put the psp on a stand while you play with a separate pad does kind of reduce the whole portable aspect of the psp though.

If sony only could have done 4 things different with the psp it would be so much greater than it already is:
    Decent D-pad
2 analogue sticks (preferably a bit nicer ones than the current
2 sets of triggers, one set could be on the back of the unit
A screen with a better response time

It seems that psx emulation had occurred to them well before the emulators release, what with the non psx-compatible controls?

I’m at work so unfortunately I cant view the video. ...this sounds quite cool though as the $ony d-pad is rubbish for pulling off the fancy moves on NJ's emulators.

My ideal pad to use for the fighting games would be the original Sega Saturn pad. The 6 button layout is perfect for the Capcom fighting games (which is basically identical to the arcades).

I liked the idea of using an Xbox 360 controller on PSP until I realised you also need a PC in close proximity for it to work.

    Does this require irshell?

Looks fake to me, the character on screen is doing tricks, and handplanting with no one touching the PSP or SNES controller.
