Parents who’ve felt the pain of an unexpected Apple App Store bill after letting their most dearest loose with their iDevice are in luck.
A new scheme proposed by Apple will offer compensation to US mums and dads whose kids have cheekily spent real cash on in-app-purchases without their consent or knowledge.
The proposal will be considered later this week and, if passed, could lead to Apple compensating millions of American customers. Claimants will receive a minimum payment of $5 in App Store credit. Those receiving compensation of $30 or more can choose to receive cash instead.
Consumers who believe they have been affected will have 180 days to email Apple once the proposals have been approved.
The move comes as Apple finally acknowledges that it has not done enough in the past to protect people frim IAP errors.
