An iPod Touch user from Texas is set to sue Apple after claiming her device blew up in her face whilst laying in bed.
Within a complaint filed with the US Direct Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the victim details her unfortunate experience with the explosive device.
The Plaintiff maintains that on February 22nd whilst using the device to listen to music, she felt a burning sensation on her eye and immediately discovered that the device had exploded and burnt her eye.
If true, this wouldn't be the first known case of an iPod "suddenly and without warning" exploding, whilst "sending electrical shock causing injury to the eye," after a previous case saw Apple sued for $225,000 for a similar incident.
There has yet to be any word on how exactly the iPod device would be capable of transmitting an electric shock to the victim's eye.
Still, the victim claims that as a result of her injury, she has faced medical bills with an "amount in excess of $600," whilst continuing to "suffer both physical and mental conditions which will cause her to suffer pain, mental distress, emotional distress, and otherwise for the rest of her life."
So bad was the incident, that the victim claims she also now suffers "loss of enjoyment of the usual activities of daily life."
iPod users beware, it would appear that in addition to allow users to enjoy their favourite music and apps, the humble device can now add 'transmission of an electrical shock directly into the user's eye' as a feature. Shocking.
