Default How can you make 3D Models from reference pictures in 3DS Max?

How can you make 3D Models from reference pictures in 3DS Max? like front, side pics to model from, abit like the discontinued program by Biovirtual called, 3D MeNow.

this is something i want to get started in, but i cannot find the perfect tutorial on how to make these find of models, htis is something i want to take into consideration:

    http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tut...kyo/index.html

he made it using the 'airbrush' look, but the quality and how beautiful it looks, its just speechless, and i couldnt tell that if it was a 3D model made using by 3DS Max. he does go through how its done, but only the final stages in each step. thus i assume that he is an expert using this program and making them and i wonder if anyone can make them as well.

i tend to make one just like out, even using pics of me as a start, with the finest quality producing a photorealistic model of anyone. simple.

i wish to say more, but i really want to know if anyone can help me on this.

i would really appreciate it if anyone can.

not to forget to mention, i have the program, version 7 I believe.

The videos on the page below will demonstrate how to model a beretta pistol from image reference. After watching this i can now model almost anything from an image reference.

i want a 3DS Max model of it exactly like that, because i tend to use it for superimposing into like-action, pictures, and even modeling.

thats only a few reasons why i need it for, just like that in the pic. i didnt really want to ask people help me create one, as i fear i dont want to be wasting their time.

i intend to create it as detailed just like that, in the method as this:

    http://www.3dm3.com/tutorials/maya/character/

but that is Maya, and i have 3DS Max, which i assume can do merly the same job.

but again, i would really appreciate it if u can do something just like tht or anyone at all. also i dont know if this is the right place for me to be asking this.

    anyone may i ask?

Im sorry, i dont think i have the skills to make a model with that detail. But yes, i use 3ds max as well, and it seems to do the job, and this is off topic forum, so you can ask pretty much anything.

it's possible to place an image on the side of a plane, and create a mesh infront of it... but you cant just extrude a picture to make the image itself. you could try to just model it on 3DS outright, or with it as a refrence texture on a plane behind your model. but you cant really "make" a 3D model from a 2D image automaticly.

@ Jman420, yeah, actually it is possible through a lot of sophisticated algorithms to make a 3d model from a 2d image. And, yeah, ur right, you can place an image on a plane behind your work space, that is how i do it almost every time. Helps to have a lot of different image references.
