psp Retailers Want a PSP Price Drop

    via gizmodo

$#@! is hitting the fan with the PSP, and that is pretty obvious as of late. According to the folks at 1UP, some "big name" retailers are calling for a PSP price drop or the portable console may be dropped from the shelves entirely due to a lack of sales. We've heard confirmation of an updated PSP, but will that device come with a cheaper price tag or will the original PSP price tag be chopped down a bit? Either sound fine to me.

The PSP may be flopping right now, but if Sony can put the right spin on it, I could see a "PSP Lite" taking off. Especially if it still has the great looking screen, media support and cheaper (think competitive with the $129 DS Lite) price tag. You know, I am kind of excited to see what is going to happen with the PSP, which has a ton of potential. Take note, people. I don't get excited over Sony products very often.

A price cut like say around £50 or so would be better. Maybe more people would get one in that case.

for a revised psp the 200 prise tag is a good pay

but they do need a price drop 2 years and still the same price

i wonder if sony ha sent goten there money worth on the psp yet that would be very said if they still havent goten no money out of the psp

but if they had shame on them for still leaving it so pricy

i think the price is one of the reasons why the psp has less sells then the DS not the games

of coures DS has good games but dosent the psp have its few

for me i like metal slug alot
and who wount like all the metal slugs portable, that rules

so i think that the psp hasent had much sales is because of the price

Agreed. The games are not worth their hefty price tag at all.

Sony understands that Nintendo knows the hand held market like the back of their hand... so why cant they take a hint that the somewhat lower price tag on the DS's software makes it more appealing when I've got money to blow?
