Following its release on June 13th, Gameloft's hit mobile game - and Mobile Entertainment's 'App of the day' on the day of its release - has experienced over 50 million downloads on the App Store and Google Play in just a month.
Despicable Me: Minion Rush topped the free app charts in more than 100 countries on iOS and stuck there for three consecutive weeks in the US.
The average rating on the App Store as well as Google Play for the game - which was developed in collaboration with Universal Partnerships and Licensing and Illumination Entertainment - has stayed at around 4.5/5.
Stephanie Sperber, President of Universal Partnerships and Licensing, said: "We are excited to see the amazing success of the game and the fact that players are so engaged with the characters from Despicable Me that audiences have come to know and love."
New content will be rolled out in a free update with Gameloft's continued support of the title.
New features will include new environments such as El Macho's Lair, new minion costumes and more than 150 brand new missions and achievements.
