Default What's the point of Homebrew% folder?

Just wondering. I figured it was some kind of backup file, why doesn't 1.00 need it?

It's basically the exploit that lets homebrew run on a PSP version 1.50.

OK, simple. Thanks. So is every Homebrew% folder basically the same thing with a different name?

No, they're different. I don't understand exactly how it works but it's created with a tool called kxploit.

This was used to KXploit EBOOTs on 1.50.

The Homebrew folder contained the program code EBOOT
The Homebrew% folder contained the ICON and PARAM.

This was because the PSP would only see the program that had a PARAM file in it, the file inside the % folder. The file with just the program data would be seen as corrupted.

OK, so that's where the corrupted icons come from.

yea, if ur on an OE firmware, just get the 1.00 version of homebrew so you wont have to deal with a lot of folders

I actually never knew that. I suppose without these the homebrew would not be possible.

Yeah, I prefer to use 1.00 eboots with oe, less corrupted icons and folders to deal with.
