At Tecmo's Nite Out 07, the company announced that Wii will be getting Project Rygar, which will be a Nintendo Wii exclusive.

A few scant details from IGN:

Based on the classic NES/Arcade game (which also made a glorious stop on PS2), this game starts the franchise anew with new characters and settings. Kikuchi wants to make a game that people can easily get into through the Wiimote, and the Wiimote will be your main control device for Rygar's Diskarmor. He hopes to be able to show more of Rygar some time this year.

Besides that, not much else is known about the upcoming game. The motto for Project Rygar will be "New Hero, New Enemies, Swing Action."

The first Rygar was released on NES exactly 20 years ago, while Rygar: The Legendary Adventure hit PlayStation 2 in late '02.
