Can I run SNES-Station (without mod chips or anything) using the PS2 Independence exploit?

Can I run PS1 homebrew using the PS2 Independence exploit without mod chips or something?

Once I have the exploit installed, will I ever be able to play PS1 games again, or does the ps2link thing not allow it?

What is ps2link? And how can I do the exploit without it (what's the difference?)?

Will the exploit ruin my memory card in any way?

Does the Independence exploit allow me to run PS homebrew or do I got to use the PS1DRV exploit?
