Blu-Ray Discs starting to rot?
There have been some reports on the AVS Forums that 'The Prestige' Blu-Ray discs are having problems reading on the PlayStation 3 or any Blu-Ray player for that matter due to rots? These "rots" look like mold spots. The spots/marks which can not be cleaned or rubbed off because they seem to be under the coated layer.
What is causing this to happen, no one knows. Could it be the temperature of where the owners are placing their disc or is it just a bad batch of discs? There are various speculations as to what might cause this but none are definite. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Sony has to say about the situation.

maybe something weird happened like the guy dropped it in water then left it in the sun to dry and some dust got on it so he tried to clean it with windex.

If you read through the 8+ pages at AVS Forums, a user bought the DVD but never really opened it. He finally opened it after reading the rotting issue and to his surprise, found the rotting on his brand new blu-ray. Originally Posted by skater9269
