    Default POIs for lower zoom-levels

    hi people,
im so happy with my psp-290 in germany, just one thing is bugging me:

If i zoom into my city and search for POIs, for example "spped-camera" or "bank" it shows every single spped-camera or bank there really is.
If i zoom to half, or whole of the country, it just shows a few of them in mapthis, it downloaded around 1000 POIs.
How should i change the "lat/lon devisors" when searching for POIS so that it makes sense?
Or is there a POI limit in mapthis and they actually were downloaded but just not shown?
and i wonder if there is a way/version to change this issue?
    would be really helpful

There is a POI limit of 400 in MapThis. MapThis loads the 400 closest POIs to the point you are where you loaded them.

If you move the cursor, and load them again, you'll see POIs closest to that new point.

ok but that does not explain, why there are sometimes not all POIs there. I tried a higher lat/lon devisor. once it worked but sometimes it creates about 2000 POIs, and not a single one is shown in mapthis :S

I don't understand what you mean by "lat/lon devisor". Could you post (in attachment) the POI file that doesn't work?

I think MapThis just has a problem with _that_ many entries. Deleting the first 1000 or the last 1000 or so yields a file which works just fine. Too bad...

My pois still don't work. I made a file of just 10 entries.

Gas stations to be exact. They don't show up.

I placed them right into the _map folder.

ONLY if i ADD a POI in mapthis itself, the 10 poi's show up, but not as gasstations, but as red dots.

    How could this be ?

Did you placed all the POIs yourself or is there a place where they can be downloaded?

of course you can download it using gmdl.
There is a menu tab in the upper screen wich says POI. Just move the map to your chosen part, click get numbers and search for "gas-station" , "speed-camera" and so on...
by the way, when searching you should use the name of the icons, you can chose in the lower parts to find something useful ^^
