Valve has released a video showing how its new gaming controller will work with popular Steam games.
The video demonstrates how the Steam Controller works with titles such as Portal 2, Civilisation V and Counter Strike.
Designed as a keyboard-and-mouse replacement, the Steam Controller features a touchscreen in the centre of the device and a pair of trackpads around the outside, which use ‘super-precise’ haptic feedback, along with ‘dual linear resonant actuators’ to provide a variety of vibration feedback sensations.
Valve unveiled details about its Steam Controller in the same week it announced its own Linux-based operating system called SteamOS, and its own range of set-top box Steam Machines.
While the Steam Controller is designed to work with Steam Machines, it will also be compatible with any PC version of Steam.
Valve said it will post additional game demonstrations showing footage of game developers using the controller to play their own games.
