Quake2 PSP Beta 3

Mczonk of Team Emergency Exit has released a new beta release of Quake 2 for the PSP.

Heres his newspost:

At the moment I try to optimize the memory usage of Quake 2 PSP. This will allow all sounds in multiplayer and reenable singleplayer mode if enough more can be saved. It was easy to analyse where the memory is used, but the more interessting question is what memory is wasted. I did not want to concede myself but the most memory is wasted in at texture’s memory. Most of the textures are not power of two, but the psp requires that. So I reserve more memory than needed. This wastes around 40% of texture memory. When I would scale down the textures it would result in around 20% less used memory. This will be around 60% less texture memory. As a trade-off the graphics quality will be lowered.

What's so good about all these Quake2s everyone is making? Can we play them online or something?

well actually i believe that on this one you can play online

yes you can play online you ether have the other person to make a server give you hes ip adrees of course, or you can isntall quake 2 pc and host a server and play agaist some bots quake searches for game sin the network

here the diference betwen the betas
Beta 1 initial release no sound
beta 2 sound
beta 3 faster gameplay but no sound

oh man! i wanna play! but i have a 3.10 oe a firmware,
whats the best way to exploit or run 1.5 games on my firmware version?

oh by the way, if my memory served me right, quake 2 was the best fps ever at that time.

I don't knw if this is normal or not, but when I go to play this game (its beta 3) and go to choose my character, I only see the male and female characters, but I have more than just those ones in my players folder. I know this post is pretty old, but if any1 can help me i'd greatly apreciate it. Thx
