the ironic thing is...there is no google maps of Vietnam at all. However, there are a lot for Laos? What gives?

windows live maps have vietnam and other more countries outside u.s in the global map downloader click ms ve then click on ve map then just look up your map on the windows live and download it.

so that one can traverse the streets of Saigon comfortably. The only concerns is that you already feel like an outsider already. Do you want to be mugged as well.

hieupc, diadiem.com does not have Google compatible tiles in it's current state (maybe when it's out of beta). However this may be what you are looking for: http://www.ciren.gov.vn/ (WMS srvice, and maybe an overlay - maybe someone can translate).
