Cross-platform tool helps increase number of daily users for Shadowgun: Deadzone by 75%
Facebook's Unity SDK is now officially out of beta, it has announced.
The cross-platform tool was launched in August during Unite 2013, and is designed to help bring more hardcore and midcourse titles to the social network.
The latest version of the SDK provides unified function and return call values across all supported platforms, as well as increased compatibility for apps using multiple plugins.
Improved support for deep linking has also been integrated, which takes people directly from social stories referencing a certain game to a customised destination in that title.
The new update also aims to make it more simple for users to share in-game screenshots. To date, players have on average shared over 65,000 pictures a day and two million images a month.
Through using the Unity SDK, Facebook claimed that developer Madfinger had increased the number of daily users for its Shadowgun: Deadzone game by more than 75 per cent during the first couple of weeks. Nival's strategy title Kings Bounty: Legions was also said to have doubled the conversion rate of Facebook users who install the Unity plugin and then play the game.
