Square Enix's relaunch of online RPG Final Fantasy 14 performed better than expected, the publisher has announced.1.5 million players are now registered for the game, two months after its PC and PlayStation 3 re-release. A PS4 version is also in the works.In its six-month financial report, Squenix revised up its expectations for the period following a round of cost-cutting measures and strong profits from Japanese arcades.Square Enix had previously forecast a loss of 2bn yen (£12.75 million), but now expects a profit of 4.7b yen (£29.8m), Siliconera reported.Things looked bad for Squenix earlier this year, when it announced a fundamental review of the entire company after suffering an "extraordinary loss". But it has recently announced new Sleeping Dogs and Deus Ex games are in production, along with Thief, Final Fantasy 15 and a fresh Hitman title.
