Hauppauge has launched the HD PVR Rocket, a new portable video game recorder.
Available exclusively to Maplin on the High Street, the HD PVR can be used with any game system which uses either HDMI video without HDCP or component video, including the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
The HD PVR Rocket records video game play in high definition resolution up to 1080p and functions independently, powered by USB from the console or PC.
A press of the red button on the device will begin instant recording onto any size USB flash drive or powered external HDD over HDMI or component in H.264 – the same format used by Blu-ray discs.
The HD PVR Rocket is small enough to fit in your hand and weighs just 130 grams. It has a built-in audio mixer so gamers can record game commentary along with game audio.
The device also works with Xbox 360, PS3 and WiiU, and is priced at £139.99. As well as Maplin’s exclusive High Street availability, the HD PVR Rocket is available online at Ebuyer, DABS and Amazon.
