Say I want to get a map of california, how can I get all the poi for the state. WHat I am trying to say is how can I get restauraunts, atms, fast food, stores, all of those places and more. When I click Geodata does that download all the pois?

    All of Cali, huh?
    Well - Start up GMDL
    Click on POI
Zoom on California as much as you can
In the top right hand area "Search for" - type GAS
    Change listing to Google
    Click LIST

Now clean up your list incase you get something NOT related to gas as you expect it
High light htat list and choose gas icon

Now check off ADD RATHER THAN REPLACE (righht center area)

Back up top to the SEARCH FOR - change GAS to RESTURANTE and click list

highlight the new section that just got added and give them teh resturante icon

    repeat as needed

    Suggestion:
If you are just travelling around and you know kind of where you are going to be - I would get POI's for the route I would be on

I think someone wanted the whole east coast of the US before. Not sure that this will fit on a 4gb or 8gb card though

I'm doing exactly this and was wondering what the min zoom level would be to see EVERY street name. Anything above 8x kills the memory card.
