Halo 3 tops Japanese charts

Halo 3 continues its world domination by taking the top stop in Japan after selling 59,000 units in its first week of release. Not as good as its UK total of 466,000 but still MS should be happy considering how much trouble the 360 is having in Japan.

Halo 3 is one of six new entries in the top ten, as Sony's consoles software sales sees a resurgence after months of Nintendo domination.

The top ten best-selling games for Japan follow:

1. Halo 3 (Xbox 360)

2. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Toki (DS)

3. Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (PSP)

4. Tamagotchi DS (DS)

5. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Yami (DS)

6. Bleach Blade Battlers 2nd (PS2)

7. English Test 2 (DS)

8. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX (PSP)

9. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3)

10. Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops + (PSP)

Halo 3 only tops the list because it's a slow gaming week, and probably most people with a 360 are getting it. It will probably disappear from the top ten completely within a week or two.

I'm very happy with Halo 3 and glad to see its doing well in all regions.

Gosh, with Halo 3, Zelda for the DS, and all the of the incredible PSP games being released lately, I'm finding myself less and less productive...

Its a good time to be a gamer.

The only reason why its selling as #1 is because people already have all the other games xD.

Halo 3 was released this past week, and it was like the only good new game, i bet, by next week sales, or this week's sales, halo 3 will be pushed off the list xD
