The animation teaches the importance of building a strong foundation via active participation.
DreamWorks - who has just released the DreamTab ANdroid tablet for kids - and Plumzi has released an interactive appisode titled VeggieTales Appisode: 3 Builders for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
The exclusive animation is based on the TV episode The Little House that Stood – it showcases a new form of story-driven entertainment that challenges children by putting them in control.
Viewers can use voice, tap, tilt plus more actions to participate in the episode and learn valuable life lessons from the VeggieTales characters Bob, Larry, and Mr. Lunt.
They can talk to Bob through the microphone and listen to his funny responses, tap the screen to make prints in wet cement, and drag materials to rebuild the dam to prevent CabbageVille from flooding.
Chris Hewish, head of global interactive at DreamWorks Animation, said: “We believe appisodes are an exciting new form of entertainment and we are proud to bring our first VeggieTales appisode to market with Plumzi.
“Plumzi has built a unique process and technology to quickly adapt existing animated series into immersive appisodes, which will allow kids everywhere to participate in the story of our beloved series.”
All the while entertaining the kids watching, it also reinforces child development and learning, plus allows parents to track the child’s progress in each of the activities.
VeggieTales Appisode: 3 Builders is available for $4.99 from the App Store now.
