    NDS Menu v1.2 Released

Spinal Cord has released a new version of his Menu app for the DS:

OK, here it is, after a few little tweaks.

    _Added_
    Folder support
    Smoother scrolling
GBAMP detection and loader (the dldi loader fails for some reason)

It should work on all the cards that chishm's loader works on, but for some reason it fails on gbamp (all though it used to work). If anyone knows of reasons that chishm's loader might fail (on a working card), perhaps memory issues or something?

You linked to the wrong file. Not to worry, you can get the latest version at http://spinal.dizidesigns.co.uk/ndsmenu.html

Loads homebrew using chishm's dldi loader.
Detects GBAMP and uses hardware loader.
    Skinnable (sort of).
    _Controls_
Left/Right - Move one icon left or right.
Up/Down - Move to the end/start of list, stopping between folders and files
    A - Load center icon.
    B - Return from folder.
Stylus - Touch an icon to move it to the center, touch the center icon to load it.

Very happy with the software, works brilliantly, and my mother will be happy that she can now play multiple DS Homebrew without having to touch that god-awful "Games'n'Music" menu system.
    Great stuff.

    ...
Highly recommended to all frustrated Games'n'Music/MMD users. (* No, it won't let you play "Backups"!!)

    Beautiful menu! =D
People need to start making skins for this.

PS- It's running fine on my MMD. Just had to DLDI patch it.

    I couldn't get it working on R4, I can't think why it wouldn't though.

I realy want to try it out. Has anyone got any screenshots. My Sister decided to give me a visit today to say hi and robbed off with my DS (I will never forgive here ). All i've got here with me is my M3 Simply.

I don't have a video, but I can tell you the clock looks nice and the icons scroll nice and smooth.

It does not load files on the R4/M3Simply, encoded as the proper firmware it just ives black screens.

I've been meaning to ask you,
How do you make the icons scroll in that manner? It looks really cool. Also, I heard somewhere that you plan on releasing the source code when the project is complete, will that take a looong time? 0.0

The icons work by first giving each icon a location 23 pixels apart, then detecting how far each is from the scroll location. something like newX=oldX+(oldX-scrollX) thats from memory mind, so it might not be exact. The zoom is calculated in a similar way. I modified the idea from a flash example showing how to do a mac style dock.

Yes, I will release the code when its finished, hopefully someone can make it run on those cards that it currently doe not work on (R4 etc.)
There are a few features I would like to add to the menu, but currently I am working an a skin format (2xgif + .ini) which is working quite well.
The next release will have mos of the current elements skinnable, what I have working now is

change text colour on both screens
    change clock colours
    change clock location
menu_skin folder will not show in list

Expect the next update in the next few days.
