If you delete doom2.wad, it will run doom.wad. If you want to try other wad files, name them doom2.wad and put them in the wads folder. Most of the ones I've tried don't work. I really want to be able to play the fistfull of doom old west mod on my PSP.

not only does the 7+ years not matter (dooms is older) but also I think the game is just some modifications of the origonal doom shareware. not really any new content in other words.

It is freeware or thats how it was discribed on the website i downloaded it from....By modification not new content do you meen that its not new maps just a reskin with new textures?
Chex Quest was a DooM total conversion (TC) developed by Digital Café, and released as freeware by Ralston Purina on boxes of Chex Cereal as a promotion back in 1996.

Hey, I remember downloading something called Doom Legacy, I think, along time ago that let you play Doom with 3d graphics, mouse support and more.

I wonder if that would work with PSP...?
