The original Dungeon Lords - released in 2005 - didn't exactly set the RPG world on fire (review), but that hasn't stopped JoWood announcing a sequel "for a next-gen console platform" and PC today.

Details on Dungeon Lord 2 (working title) are pretty much being kept under wraps currently. A release date is set for Q3 2009.

JoWood has additionally said a standalone expansion (due Q3 2008) for the first game is on the way.

"Not requiring the base game, the Expansion Pack is a complete stand-alone game and will contain an all new story which acts as a link between the original game and the Sequel. The Sequel will deliver an all new graphics and physics engine, a new epic quest and all new art."

Dungeon Lords took its cue from RPG classics such as Diablo and Gothic II, with the primary slant of the game being focused around fast-paced action.
