Apple devices seem to have violent tendencies. An iPad previously filled a Vodafone store with smoke and flames, while an iPhone exploded on a flight.
Now, one teenage girl from Maine, US, has been on the wrong end of an iPhone glitch as the device caught fire in her pocket, which resulted in her being taken to hospital and treated by an emergency crew for moderate burns.
The principal told Sea Coast Online the student sat down and "heard a pop" from her back trouser pocket where the iPhone was, which immediately resulted in smoke appearing and the girl performing a "stop, drop and roll."
The device is said to have been visibly burnt, with the problem arising due to the battery experiencing an electrical short.
