NDS Duke3DS - Beta Test for DS

GPF has today posted a Beta Test release of Duke Nukem 3D for the Nintendo DS, heres the release info:

finally fixed the black lines on the floor, made some other minor tweaks.

Let me know how it works and please give me constructive feedback, how should the controls work, I haven't tried other fps's on the ds, so not sure how to do the controls for it. Plus any other ideas will be helpful.

81 downloads -- 2 comments on last release, hard to improve without feedback.

    Thanks,
    Troy(GPF)

Well for the controls you should kind of put them like quake ds shoot with L,walk with dpad, aim with touch screen, press R to jump, x or y to switch weapons

I'd also like to see QuakeDS style controls (forward/back/strafeleft/straferight mapped to the Dpad, and mouse style aiming on the touch screen. Quake DS also has 8 custom hotkey buttons on the touch screen that you can bind any action to (great for jumping/changing weapons), and I think that setup would be ideal for Duke3DS.
One thing I noticed, It seems like the buttons are all set to rapid fire and it makes crouching very twitchy. I wonder if that plays a part in the touchy dpad turning.
Can't wait to see this one when it's done, seems like just a few rough edges as far as gameplay/sound.

well other then the double tap stuff, I think the other defines can be done by just changing the duke3d.cfg [KeyDefinitions] section.

If you come up with a new duke3d.cfg that matches that please post it.

    Thanks,
    Troy(GPF)
