Here's the breakdown of features:

:thumbup: I've owned like 9 or 10 psp cases; I'm big on accessories. This case is far slimmer than the PGP [Play Gear Pocket] and is less thick. (The PGP is accepted by many as the best Psp case.) But, the PGP has protruding edges that can be sharp and you have to open it to use the Psp; on top of that, there's nothing to keep your Psp from falling right out of the case when you lean back because there's nothing to hold it in!


:thumbup: The screen protector on the Alumor Capdase case is really nice, durable and it's easy to remove; it never falls out and you only have to remove the top part of the metal shell to get it out.


:thumbup: You don't have to open this case ever unless you use different UMD's or like changing your battery often. The Silicone case leves an opening for the UMD drive but you still have to pull the metal shell off to get to it. Just to make this clear, this case is for experienced homebrewers who don't use Umd's, because the case isn't conducive to frequent UMD switches. That said, most homebrew users don't even use UMD's at this point and the case leaves openings for all the Psp's ports.


:thumbup: Some Psp cases add an extra battery pack but in my experience that just adds alot of unecessary weight. This case is much lighter without it. Between the silicone and the metal the Psp feels much better protected but still light.


:thumbup: If you don't want to use the stand (which is small and doesn't get in the way when it's collapsed and you are playing) you can just pop it off.


:thumbup: I've gone through alot of psp cases and even posted on a few of them thinking they were cool. This case is by far the best I've owned; I highly recommend it. (Renchi shipped fast and it was cheap)


:thumbup: My psp is my baby, I've put alot of time tweaking it and putting things on it, but I don't want to turn it into a brick just to protect it. This case (I got red) looks cool and it's durable.

-Metal shell glitters less and silicone is more red, rather than orange as it appears in the pictures, but that's a good thing.

it's not that heavy as cases go, the best thing about it is how slim it is. I must admit, psp cases do add bulk and weight to the system, but I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to a 200$ treasure.

So there's an extra layer of plastic over the screen to protect it?

If that doesn't cause extra reflection or make it look worse then It could be alright.

I think most people with a PSP went out and got a playgear pocket if they wanted a hard case. The lid can act as a sheild for light and as a stand, clamshell to protect the screen with nothing extra on top of it when playing.

Yeah, I'll re-post this in the review section, sorry about that.

Yeah, I was surprised to find how effective this screen protector was. I've had bad experiences with screen protectors that use adhesive to stick to the screen.

This screen protector is hard yet thin and cause no additional glare.

It's not a shiny protector so light doesn't seem to be reflected by it.

Looks kind of nice, but at the same time almost as bulky as a PGP.

Sorry man, I just love my Playgear Pocket, I only use it for transport, whenever I want to play with my psp, I just take it out of the PGP, and when I'm done I put it back in.

It is indeed a bit bulky, but as you've said, is better to be safe than sorry

About PSP slim
If I ever buy one, I'm planning on getting a crystal case, wich looks like a second skin on it. IMO is the best one for it

Yeah I love cases!:thumbup:

I used the PGP for like a year and a half, definitely a solid case.

Speaking of the Psp slim; I wish skype worked on the fat...
