Square Enix' next Deus Ex game could be titled Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
The publisher has secured a trademarked for that phrase in UK, having filed on March 27, according to a listing on the OHIM website.
Square and developer Eidos Montreal confirmed back in October 2013 that it was working on a new Deus Ex game for next-gen consoles and PC.
Studio head David Anfossi shared the news on the company's website, confirming that the core team behind 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution is working on the project.
Little more than a single piece of early concept art for the game (pictured above) has been revealed. The art was said to showcase the "trans-humanism segregation" which will act as the backdrop for the sequel.
"It represents a 'ghetto-city' voluntarily built in order to separate the classes," Anfossi explained.
"The people in this segregated class have reshaped their environment, nostalgic for their ideal of Cyber Renaissance. This dark and dystopian vision sets the tone for things to come in Deus Ex."
The appearance of the trademark could suggest Square may soon be ready to share more on the game - perhaps at E3 in June, if not sooner.
