Cool AVI Player v0.2 for the PSP Released

Myungwoon Go has released v0.2 of his AVI player for the PSP.

Here is what he had to say about this release:

    Introduction

this is first AVI player for PSP.
this is port of AVI player for GP32 console (aka GP Cinema).
This is program is still experimental. and not optimized so enjoy it with your own risk!!
    New features

this version supports sound decoding. but,the supported codec is still limited(video-DIVX and audio-MP3)

I am working on more codec support and more optimization, but many timer related API and IRQ routines are still undiscovered. I am also working hard to discover the API. But I am not a professional programmer, so the optimization is slow, unfortunately.

Nothing I encoded would work, but I hope this project gets off the ground with more codec support, pause/ff/rew controls etc. I would love to be able to watch video in the native 480/272 resolution!

WOOOHOOO!!! i hope to see more codecs in the future, like he says in the description. this is a much appreciated release, at least IMO it is. a heck of a lot better than a sound lagging mp4 file thats 100 megs.

run it like the usual emulators with the 'AVIPLAY' and the 'AVIPLAY%' folders and the avi movie in the no '%' folder. load up the program from you MS and if its an avi format itll run. although i think it has to be a certain frame..heres part of the read me

    supported codec

    video codec
    DIVX 4.12
    xvid coepi_build
    audio codec

    limitation
    video resolution width<480,height<272
audio sampling rate 22050_stereo only - currently (will be add nextversion)

    to do
more codec support(eps DIVX 5.0 and AAC)
    zoom stretching screen
    MP3 decoding by mediaengine

this is assuming you have a 1.5v psp and the other folder 'AVIPLAY1.0' is for 1.00v psps

A directory change would be good. It would be nice if the proggy used a folder on the m0:/psp called Video or something.
