I have exactly the same problem. I got my gps-290 today but when i tried to plug it in, my psp doesn't recognize the device. My fw is 3.90m33-2 and im using version 0.5.20 of mapthis too. I tried the older version of mapthis but it still didn't work. do you have any luck on this. Is there any application I can use to check if my gps is working? I bought it in ebay and its still factory sealed.

I have the same issue with my FAT PSP. I installed mapviewer v5.05b, my board is TA 079/81, GPS-290 and Mapviewer is in my GAME317 folder, I am running 3.71 CFW. I dumped my keys to the ms and analyzed keys with Keycleaner 1.4 and all keys are okay. i still see GPS State OFF in the GPS info screen. put the ms in my co-worker's slim psp TA-085 and plug the gps 290 on his and it all works great. The I hook the ms and the gps-290 back to my unit and GPS State On shows but then goes away after a few minutes. Any help would be appreciated.
