    ps3 MotorStorm 2 Teaser Trailer

    via IGN

A little earlier than expected, it's time to cease the speculative chatter and grit teeth ready for some 100% official MotorStorm 2 infofactment. First things first though: you might want to cast your eyes below and check out the very first teaser trailer for Evolution Studio's forthcoming racing follow-up.

Down it bit more. Good, finished? Now stop your scowling – yes, it's a CGI target render. Let's not forget though, after the spluttering internet screams following the notoriously not-in-game E3 2005 MotorStorm trailer, Evolution came commendably close to realizing its ambition with the final code. What can be ascertained so far then is that MotorStorm 2 will be a lot less brown than its predecessor, sprawling across a verdant tropical Pacific island setting far removed from the dusty bowl of Monument Valley. Alongside thick foliage, Sony promises a huge variety in environmental hazards, citing mountainous peaks, flowing rivers, volcanic clouds, lava and - yep - mud. In fact, the game will feature 16 multi-route tracks in total.

Sony has officially silenced rumour mouths too, revealing that monster trucks are a definite addition to the vehicle roster, offering an excessively muscular new challenge for players looking to crush their way through the field - and over opponents. Speaking of which, MotorStorm 2 will indeed feature a four-player split-screen mode, alongside online play for up to 16 players.

Beyond Sony's fistful of revelations, we can only turn to the trailer, speculative hat back on bonce. Of particular interest are those seemingly destructible environments. Witness the moment a monster truck deftly clips and collapses a wooden tower, creating a brand new obstacle duly responsible for the demise of a chasing car and pendulous female biker. If that moment's any indication of Evolution's ambitions for the game, colour us tangerine with excitement.

MotorStorm 2 is due to hit PS3 this coming autumn (or fall, if you prefer) and we'll have more on the game just as soon as we've packed the sun lotion and a spare pair of pants, in case of skid marks.

Well I think it's more of an online console than an offilne console. But an offline multiplayer is not a hard addition, they can add it without problems
