    Arrow guitar hero for dreamcast

Lifting the Dreamcast key board up side down one day I realized with its bottom U shaped space bar your finger slides off it nice for strumming. while you left hand fits nicely on to the enter, del, ins, and right arrow from the num pad. It feels like it could duplicate a guitar hero controller fairly well. Now today I found this site. http://fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/

A home brew game for PC called frets on Fire. It allows remapped key bindings and uses a keyboard. How hard would it be for some one to port this to the dreamcast? Now that the commodore 64 has a guitar hero clone it's high time the DC has one. One if inclined could also use a ps2 to dc adapter as the pc game supports the ps2 to usb adapter to use an actual game guitar.

Dreamcast programs are either in C\C++ or SH4 assembly. Frets on Fire is written in Python. The entire source code would have to be rewritten in C.

Actually I don't have played Guitar Hero, but isn't the game idea similar to Feet of Fury? As you might know, in 2004 Cryptic Allusion has released the source code of that game (http://www.cagames.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=383).

I think, building up from the Feet of Fury source would be much better than reimplementing the whole Frets On Fire.

You donīt need to rewrite frets on fire or modify feet of fury. Thereīs a c/c++ guitar hero simulator, itīs good, itīs for PS2 and Win/linux and itīs called "GUITAR FUN".

you can get the game, the source and comments in:

i think that itīs fully portable to DC. It uses tremor for ogg playing and some opengl.
