TI83 Emulator version 0.01

DWEdit has already released a new version of his TI83 Emulator for the GBA, heres whats new:

New version...
Has a Link Feature.
Append the TI83 ROM, then append a single .83g file.
Press L+R in fullscreen mode to send the attached 83g file. (uses silent linking, calc must be on and at homescreen)

You need a calculator to find the square root of 256? I was one of the few class years in England where we were allowed to take Ti-83's into GCSE exams. I ended up programming most of the needed text/equations into the memory and playing tetris with the spare time.

I wanted to play Mario Island. I ran the BAT file, got the Final version of the emu, fired it up on my GBAMP v2, got a Big white block inside a blue space.

I'm highly surprised you got it to work on the GBAMP at all, given that the final filesize is over 256 KB...

Regardless, if you read the documentation, you'll find that pressing Select switches out of that mode. Again, it probably will not work on your GBAMP.

Sorry for double posting, but I wanted to correct myself and I'm not sure if XDelusion read my old reply.

I've determined that there's enough empty data at the end of the TI-83 rom that you can trim it down to about 236 KB or so, just small enough for the GBAMP to be able to boot it. This won't help you play Mario Island (as that requires the game to be added to the very end of the file), but it will let the basic calculator emulation function. Take the ti83emu_final.gba file and run it through a rom trimmer application. Then try running it on your GBAMP. You'll get the white box and blue background like before, but when you press Select and press the On button, it will actually work.

Hey guys, could you please help me get this working on M3 Lite (on GB Micro)? I found an app that compiles the ti83emu and ti83.rom into one new file, but it doesn't boot on my M3. Also, what are .83g files? Like extra apps for the Ti83 or something different and necessary?

Does the output file work in VBA? Note that you should get a mostly-white screen at the beginning. Press Select to switch to keypad mode and go to the On button to power on the calculator.

.83g files are games and applications for the TI-83, like Tetris or whatnot. Not necessary for the core calculator functionality at all.
