You can't use a SD Card on a Gamecube like a memory card. Very few games supported SD Cards officially, and I believe only the Japanese versions did. You'll need an AR to make any real use out of it on the Gamecube.
Ok. I just got a gamecube at thanksgiving. I needed more space on my memory card, discovered this forum and started reading.
I don't have an AR disk, though I'd like one some day.
I got one of these.

I've formatted the disk with XP and Vista. Both fat and fat32. I've run SDPatch.exe.
The gamecube doesn't seem to recognize the SD card. All I'd like to do at the moment is use it like a memory card. What am I missing?

oops. That's disappointing. Guess I've got to get another memory card too then. Silly that it can't be used like a memory card. Didn't I read somewhere that you could copy your saved game data onto the SD card?
I'd assume that there's some kind of homebrew program to do something like that. You still need the AR though to make it work.
