Does any router work with pokemon diamond because when i buy one i wanna no the right kind?

well, mine works and im using D-link, but when i started to use it itr didnt work it said "no compatible blah blah blah in range" but when i fiddled around with the settings it started to work, you also need a wireless one but im sure u already knew that.

Wifi cards do work just im not sure if they do with pearl/diamond, cause a while back my friend used his card to play metroid but it didnt work with his diamond
