FCE Ultra (NES Emulator for the Wii!)

Askot just posted over at Teh Skeen (http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6749) that his NES emulator for the Gamecube has been ported to the Wii! In order to load roms you'll need to use the same method as his Genesis emulator currently (Have a gamecube SD memory card). Here's what he had to say:


What's new? Askot [20080326]
- Added saving state in SD Card (State files will be saved in root of SDCARD).
*Note: I can't make it work to save in root:\fceu\saves, so help needed.
- Added SDCARD slot selection for searching roms, meaning, you can search roms
from SDCARD SLOT A & SLOT B (Beta, meaning, buggy, but works).
- For standarization, you must create folders root:\fceu\roms to read NES
roms files from SDCARD.
- Added C-Left to call Menu.
- Reading files from SD Card it's faster, now they're called from cache
after first reading.
- Menu in saving STATE file changed to choose SLOT, DEVICE, Save STATE,
Load STATE, Return to previous.
- Added option PSO/SD Reload to menu, still works (START+B+X)
- Modified controls when going into the rom selection menu (DVD or
SDCARD):
+ Use B to quit selection list.
+ Use L/R triggrers or Pad Left/Right to go down/up one full page.
- Some menu rearrangment and a little of sourcecode cleanup:
+ Everytime you pressed B button on any option, playgame started, not anymore
until you select Play Game option.

Another incredible Wii release. I just checked it out myself and it works brilliantly!

People are just waiting for the Wii's SD slot to be supported by the LIB they use to compile the ELFs. It shouldn't be too long (actually it might be, I dunno how often the LIBs are updated).

damn, i've never seen an sd adapter in sweden.. too bad cus i want one so i can try this one out.. i don't wanna order one from the us or uk, the shipping would cost more than the adapter itself.. :D

well atleast i have snake.. :) haah and when i play snake you can sit there with this emu and smb in ur a*s :D

hehe i bought smb3 from VC haah but it's more fun on an emu cus it's free :D

haha see!! i haven't even seen one single sd card adapter in any store i've been to in sweden..

but now that i think about it.. i've actually seen it on ONE modding site, and it costs 148 SEK, that's 24,775 USD!!
for a friggin sd gecko, i can't believe my eyes when i see that price, i gotta stick a fork in my eyes or something.. just kidding.. but you gotta agree that price is just.... i can't find a good word for it, CUS THERE ISN'T ONE!

sometimes i just wish i live in the us, it's all so cheaper and earlier release dates and everything, but we don't have the mpaa here :) that's about the only good thing here though..

Anders, we in Europe usually have to pay a LOT for stuff like movies, games, hardware, gaming consoles and so on due to all the fees.

An example would be MP3:Corruption; I paid 599 Norwegian Kroner for it, which equals $118.2532, while on BestBuy.com, it costs $49.99. Almost DOUBLE the price!! (we also have to wait for about one month before we see a release, comparing to the US, and two, maybe three comparing to japanese release, when it is a multinational game, like MP3:Corruption)

So you see, it really isn't worth buying things in Europe when you come from the US.

So any word on updates i have a snes and gbc running ( the snes even has save support) and eke-eke released a gens today ALL HAVE FRONT SD LOADING SUPPORTED see my video on youtube (look for vettacossx's video's) ;) i only have zelda and the twilight hack in my wii for the tutorial vid btw......

back on topic i sure hope that front sd support comes for the NES soon :) :)
