I recently bought a psp off ebay(big mistake) and cant get it working.
I read a bunch of thread and all that but still have no clue. Every time i try to start a game i get (80020148) error message and every time i try to update the system from the game i get (DADADADA),. the "system software" i have is 3.10 OE-A which i think is incorrect. Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

You cannot update the system with an official firmware when it has custom firmware on it.
Thats what the DADADADA error code means.

You will have to update using custom firmware.
Dark-AleX - PSP Developer (http://www.dark-alex.org/)

Or downgrade to 1.5 (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=49967) and then you can start upgrading with official firmware updates.
Official PSP Firmware (http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/36)

You are not retarded.
Try this:
Error 80020148 - HOW TO FIX IT (http://community.eu.playstation.com/showthread.php?t=113680)

To get in to the Recovery Menu.
Cold Boot your PSP + Hold the Right Tigger.
Cold Boot means that your PSP is completely off - Not in standby mode.
Hold the Power Button all the way up for about 8 Seconds and the PSP will turn completely off.

Strange your firmware is 3.10 OE-A
I assume you tried to go back to 1.5
What happened?

Did you try to fix the error message fix for (80020148)?

appreciate it, but the recovery pack for some reason does not work for the one i have

Go into the Recovery Menu and make sure the Kernel for Game is set to 1.50 not 3.10
Recovery Menu
Configuration -> Game Folder homebrew (currently: 1.50 kernel)

By default it should be set to 3.10 kernel.
