Are you trying to take out the vocals or just rip music from games, the internet, ect.?

There are plenty of programs that record everything your computer is playing if you're trying to rip music.

If your trying to take out the vocals, then I don't know of any program because I've never had a desire to do that.

Switch (http://www.nch.com.au/switch/switchsetup.exe)

It's primarily an audio converter, but I've found I can shove videos in it and 9/10 it'll "convert" them to mp3.

OH.
I didn't read your post correctly.

You can also use rad tools, bink and smacker.
I use that for everything, it'll convert videos to audio, videos to other videos, weird formats you've never heard of, yea it supports them.

Goldwave is a great Audio-Program too. Usually you can just load the video files directly into Goldwave. It'll just ignore the video container. Then you can easily edit and export your audio-stream to any format.
